Good fun - thanks.
Loads of climb (too much for me, especially the haul up to #9 and to the finish on A) but some interesting legs on a glorious day.

Re: Hathersage
Enjoyed the urban bit but can I re-iterate that the golden oldies are not brain-dead and too infirm to compete on a challenging course. Over half course c controls were on the parkland.
Those who couldn't manage would be able to do the under 16's course.
Any body else have problems with the print coming off on the folds? I nearly looked for a path that was in fact where the print had come off
Thanks to SYO for putting it on. Looking forward to seeing results. .

Re: Hathersage
Unless there are particularly good quality cross country areas adjacent to an urban area it is really preferable to limit the length of the courses rather than have rather meaningless cross country legs. My course had 4 controls in a field, all of which I could see the moment I entered the field. It wan't really orienteering for that substantial part of the course.
But I enjoyed it. Thanks SYO.

And many 14 & 15 year olds would love to do something more challenging than Park O, but can't due to insurance. Once past 16 they can enter any course they like.

Re: Hathersage
I have just been looking at Route Gadget for some runners at the (slower !!) end of Course B. There is at least one individual who shows a fairly cavalier attitude to the crossing of olive green areas - between #6 and 7 and around #11.
Given that ranking points are being allocated for this event - and points in the YHOA Urban League - is this a case for retrospective disqualification, or should we work harder on the education programme?

I think the point has been made before that RG is not a good grounds for DQ due to errors in inputting and the fact that anyone can input a route for you if they select your name....
Orienteering - its no walk in the park
