Re: GB at World Ski-O Championships
I don't really know what's going on (no audio at work and well, have work to do) but watching a relay live via head-cam seems like a pretty awesome idea

Hope the GB skiers times improve for the rest of the week, if not the "long" distance might be "ultra-long".....

Re: GB at World Ski-O Championships
Well I'm sure they're doing their best - conditions look harsh - this must be very near where the o-ringen was 2 years ago -it was soooo hot at the end of the week.
Just looked at the mixed relay results and spotted the name Alison Crocker in the US team - unless I'm mistaken there was a very nice young lady called something like that at Oxford a few years back - I wonder if it's the same one
But then again - I've also spotted one Gerard Butler on the start list at the JK - bet that's not who I'm thinking of

Re: GB at World Ski-O Championships
It is indeed the same Alison Crocker - she was a very good (international-standard) cross-country skier before she came to Oxford and took up orienteering, so I guess Ski-WOC was the logical next step

Women 11th on Relay at finish. Beat Japan. Sarah Hale ony 10 mins down on first leg in 9th position.
Stan has made an appearance on second leg of Men's Relay. Looks as though he is best British man. What a legend.

Result of the week for the British team I'd say - in the mix with the two teams in front as well.
British candle-O champion.

Harry on second leg in relay. Target was a realistic +50% of leader - she almost made it and considering conditions - still snowing from pictures - I guess she was happy.

Re: GB at World Ski-O Championships
It was great fun! I don't know where +50% came from? The fastest were supposed to use 30 min per leg and I hoped I could do under 50 min Which I did! Maybe the start of achieving?

Sälen is about 200 km from Tänndalen, but the distance concept is a bit different in these sparsely populated areas so you can call it "very near" if you like.

On the other hand, end of March is often very nice in the swedish mountains, a bit of bad luck for the Ski-WOC-organisers and competitors I guess.
