Although merchandise can be a big outlay if you get people to pre-order it with their entries at least you are guaranteed the sales.

I agree - I was rather disappointed at the last Scottish 6 days as I was unable to buy a t-shirt as they sold out by day 2. ....
Much better to be able to pre order, thanks.

We discussed pre orders for 6 Day merchandise but the general view was that people would want to see/touch/try-on before committing.
The merchandise options for Oban are not set yet, so I can't tell you what will be available.

I was camping wild at the first S6D and had just the one top. It was hot. On the morning of day 6 the top could stand up on its own Brilliant for discouraging following and a pretty good incentive to run fast and leave the smell behind

My major and minor sons went to the Finn 5 many years ago where they put their kit in the laundry for washing and were told it had all been through twice as it was so bad After the evnet I found minors socks which had been stuffed in the end pocket of his sports bag. Unfortunately that was about a month later. They went straight in the bin It's the only time I've heard of an event having it's own manned laundry. They must have made a mint as it poured down with rain all week!

I once took only a single pair of O-trousers to a multiday in Slovenia, where the temperature was regularly 35°C+ - my excuse is that I was a poor student and still fairly new to the sport, and so only owned the one pair. Another member of our touring party was so disgusted by this that she actually went out and bought me a second pair

Our first multiday was Croeso 2000 and we were camping in a trailer tent. Young Neville was 10 years old and sleeping in a sort of dog kennel under one end of it. After 3 days he said he'd lost his pyjamas! On the sixth day he said he'd found them, he"d been wearing them all the time under his O kit

Oh dear - that's the second report of nakedness I've heard since the weekend - it must be all my fault - I certainly gave him a good telling off then for not taking his clothes off and now look what's happened

Definitely a new emblem - I would not sanction the purchase of any thing with that terrible pot bellied orienteer and his comedy dragon on it - think more Merlin less Scooby Do

I too was tired of the old logo. although it served its purpose, so I got a new one designed last year...you will be seeing alot of it from JK onwards...everywhere (I go)...
