So what are on people's wish list with CROESO 2012 next year, merchandise needs some serious thoughts (mine I am afraid):
Tech T-shirts
Water Bottles
Buffs (bit old hat?)
Cuddly dophin/dragon for the little ones
Kit bag
Tech towels
Long socks
CROESO 2012 'O' Top
Merchandise

Re: Merchandise
What's the purpose of the merchandise?
If it's to promote events/orienteering then something that will last and remind others/promote the sport - car stickers, fridge magnets etc. Clothes are good for a while, but then the date stamped on makes them rather, eeerr, dated.
If it's to make money how about some Croeso welsh cake + jam? I'm sure I read somewhere that the latest scientific advice was that stuffing you face with carbohydrate (ie cake) 5 minutes after you finish reduces the chances of catching a cold.

...that's exactly what ever finisher at the Welsh Champs received at download - a welsh cake (or 2) handed out by a little girl in a Welsh costumesome Croeso welsh cake

CROESO 2012 'O' Top
I haven't been to a Welsh six day before so may be persuaded to go to one. I would say that an o-top would be top of my list, followed by a tech t-shirt and buff and definitely a furry dragon for this big kid!
Although merchandise can be a big outlay if you get people to pre-order it with their entries at least you are guaranteed the sales.

Definitely a new emblem - I would not sanction the purchase of any thing with that terrible pot bellied orienteer and his comedy dragon on it - think more Merlin less Scooby Do

I agree - I was rather disappointed at the last Scottish 6 days as I was unable to buy a t-shirt as they sold out by day 2. Having been travelling for 2 days and keen to get to our accommodation we didn't feel up to braving the queues on day 1. Then on day 4 they were selling the commemorative 100day shirts only in green - not my colour and not really relevant to me as that was my first scottish 6 days - i expect lots of people were disappointed not to get the special edition shirts. It was great that we could pre order the buffs though.
I could certainly use more buffs - they are ideal for cycling to work on cold days, but do tend to get a bit sweaty/gobby/damp so I need more! They are more useful to me than more O tops or t shirts.
Much better to be able to pre order, thanks.

O-tops NO - you should be wearing your club colours at events - show your pride in your club no matter who it is!

That's all very well but washing at a 6 days can sometimes be difficult and who has 6 club o-tops? I know some people wear a top more than one day but I absolutely refuse to do that!
Some weeks I do 2 or 3 local events in the evenings and then a bigger event at the weekend - necessitating several o-tops so it's good to have a selection to choose from.

You're not alone. Two clubs, three generations of tops for each. I'll leave you to guess which club top has a Useful Pocket.

Washing an O top isn't exactly rocket science, even at the camp site there are taps and sinks - a bit of soap or detergent, a couple of minutes rubbing and it'll be dry by the morning.

.....are but then you are faced with the tricky problem of what to do when your club top is hideous
Our previous club top was hideous (I am allowed to say this as I designed it) and I could only bring myself to wear it for relay purposes. I had to go to the extraordinary lengths of creating the first ever satellite club to give me an excuse to design a tasteful new and extremely limited edition new club top
Fortunately I like our latest main club top.

And can you imagine trying to get o kit from the second day of the JK last year clean with a bit of soap and some rubbing? I was covered from head to toe in thick mud!
