Merchandise

As you may recall, event merchandise has been one of my (many) hobby horses over the past few years and I think the quality has generally improved considerably.

How about a bit of competitive merchandising then? I've just had a tempting e-mail from the JK people with some very nice hoodies at a reasonable price and I might be in the market for one as my beloved (extremely)limited edition MADO hoody is getting very threadbare. BUT I have only limited means available and supposing I get to the S6D and find things I like better there?

So - what have you got to offer S6D and anyone else who wants to prize my annual event merchandise budget out of my little hand?

Not strictly 'merchandise', but what I intend to do one day is to purchase some of the small control kites that people dangle from their rear-view mirrors and place them at various sites in my back garden, eg vegetation boundary (grass/moss), NE corner of shed, etc. I can then feed my obsession by looking out of the bedroom window as I awake.

Alternatively, I can organise a score event for the dog, with various treats at each control: biscuit bone - 20 pts, scrap of last night's chicken - 10 pts, cuddly toy - 30 pts.

Usually, though, I find my 'merchandise' budget gets spent on things that I usually need, such as a watch, ankle tape, proper O shoes that will actually keep me upright.

I have dozens of cotton t-shirts that I never wear.

I do however wear the Craft technical t-shirts I bought at the JK in 2007 and 2009 and the Tackla o-top I bought at the Lakes 5. It would be great if more techincal tops could be sold as merchandise as I might actually wear them!

The buffs from the last 2 S6Ds have been great as well, although I have an upset other half as he lost one of his in a gondola in Austria 2 weeks ago so I hope there are going to be more at the S6D this year!

I'm the opposite - my casual wardrobe is increasing composed solely of Saunders t-shirts - but I agree that technical tops would probably be more popular. I am very envious of those stylish "Aveyron 6 Days" O-tops that loads of people seem to have.

Yes it's more usueful and functional merchandise that I have been campaigning for - apparently those Aveyron tops were "free" to everyone who entered - it's enough to make you think about going to the next F5D just to get a top

I have a great collection of none. Not bad for four years. I would love one of those white rose mugs though - one day when I'm W95 maybe!!

Certainly think City of London merchandise would go down well. Number 1 son was very disappointed the first year when he didn't get one of the red helpers tops as they only had a limited supply. (And he helped all day as he was injured and not running )
