take a good look at the moon tonight - at it's closest for 18 years - looks bloody enormous out of my lounge window now

But it is not full anymore -- that was last night, and it was nearly as big then.

You would need a spectacularly good measuring device to spot the difference though

Yes - visible throughout CLOK night event at Romanby Golf Club. It even guided me into a control!

The apparent size of the moon depends upon what time you're viewing it. It appears larger closer to the horizon and reduces in apparent size as it rises.

Agree, looked huge last night, framed in central bedroom window as currently curtain/ blindless.

Not only huge, but with a distinct orangey/reddish tinge as it emerged over the horizon at the final Western Night League event of the season in the Forest of Dean.
