Stag Sosol

Credit to STAG for getting this event on in the snow. Must have been fun hanging the controls out the day before! A very creditable turnout of 100+ given the weather. My legs are definitely feeling the effects of 7k in the snow this morning.

Does anyone else notice you never see the two McKendrick brothers at the same event - is this some sort of tax dodge?

Yes, well done for defeating the weather the day before and getting the event on, although I'm not sure "Sunday’s weather was a blessing" (post race comments). My feet were cold by the end and didn't recover fully until later in the afternoon. You know you're in trouble when the water you're about to step in has icy-snow resting on top of it!

Still, a well run event and very enjoyable.

Yes many thanks to Terry and Gerry and all concerned. Very enjoyable. The snow made a surprising hindrance to progress through the heather and tussocks.

Is AlanB (above) now the only runner at all the 6 SoSOLS so far on a TD5 course (Green / Blue / Brown)? Will you make it to the last one at Cademuir?

no, both my parents have been at all (dad ran green at devilla, mum mp'd at clyde)

sosol combined results don't include people who only have one counting score on a given course

Yes - glad it wasnt just me who struggled in the snow - I lost the feeling in my toes on my left foot about half way round - not sure thats a good sign!

I shall be there, rejuvenated by some warm-weather training and rest!

Turning up as often as possible is my strategy! That way my disasters are made irrelevant by my reasonable runs.

Will they be there at Cademuir? There ought to be some sort of recognition - honorary life membership of the SoSOL Vice-Presidents Club, or something.

Seriously, I have enjoyed the series; I just wish I could go back to Jedburgh and set off with the correct map! Hats off to everyone involved with organising this year's SoSOL!
