Does this mean we could be seriously 'depressed' on the 20th?

It brings back memories of a LUOC score event in the days of control cards.

There were no control descriptions. Rather, at the mass start a banner was unfolded which read "All the Depressions".

Fortunately there were only 27 on the map.

I ran at an event with LEIOC where every control was a bench and Freefall planned one in Morpeth where every control was a bridge (different types and positions on or around the bridge).
I'd like to be at the event but I suspect I will need to be elsewhere (hopefully not stile building)

Did a New Year's Day event on Ranmore Common many years ago, where we were told 30 of the 300+ depressions had controls in them, go and find them. Also we only had one map between 2 for some reason I fail to remember

I was hoping to come to Hugset but the closing date has caught me out. Will there be much entry on the day available ?

Yes there is EOD, and the maps have already been printed with each course having around 30-40% extra maps based on pre-entry numbers.

I'm currently doing the Final Details which should be on the SYO website in the next couple of days after verification by other event officials.

That is a change. The final details I ran off earlier this week states"We have not allocated start times to pre-entries" and later states "go straight to the start". Potential confusion

Yes there was a late change, the organiser explains it in a news posting on the SYO home page.

You'd never know the news posting was there - unless you took the trouble to scroll down. Surely it needs to be immediately visible on the webpage.

The amendment to Hugset final details is quite easy to see, on the home page, in the middle and in red letters. Most screens will show the first news item without any need to scroll down. It can also be found from the link from the upcoming events, and there is also comment on the SYO forum.

What a great area, I think I was the first starter so had the privilege of taking the first competitive steps in the forrest. I really enjoyed it. A good map and a real test of fine navigation. Thanks SYO
