Fantasy urban events

A couple of my favourites to get things started:

St Ives
(in Cornwall, not Huntingdonshire). My own never-ending semi-complete mapping project. Tiny twisty streets, ridiculously narrow steps and cut-throughs, lots of hill, a random rocky open bit, and the sea.

When staying down there for last year's Tamar Triple, I thought Padstow would make for a great urban venue in much the same way.

Ran at Alton Towers back in 1989 on a 1:7500 map done by Neil Lawford, Dave & Doug Peel and Tony Duncan of Walton Chasers. Certainly a good and somewhat steep area which would benefit from a Sprint spec. map. As it was back in the days of written descriptions, the Brown course was memorable for control 22 which read 'Mammoth, Left Tusk'. Hope Chasers manage to get it remapped and used again.

As has been previously said the NEC was mapped by Bruce Bryant and there were courses inside and out in conjunction with the Outdoor Shows as part of the BOF Orienteering Challenge. I have maps from 2002 and 2006 but I'm sure there others.

I've got a double sided map of NEC from Outdoors Show 2005. 1 side is 1:2500, inside halls 9, 10 and 11; other side is also 1:2500, area between lake (outside hall 5) and Pavillion Arena.

This year, Outdoors Show was at ExCel London, where BO had a small maze course (I was one of the volunteers)

St Ives Cambridgeshire was first mapped and used for a good WAOC urban event (with river meadows) in 2009 - start was at a chapel on a bridge.

not in the UK but Dubrovnik in Croatia would be awesome (and a lot of the other island towns would be too, steep winding streets with loads of alleyways, awesome. Tighter and hillier than Venice)
