Re: Midland Champs
Sheringham Park only, is quite a small area for a 'Long' race; will it be more like an 'Extended Middle Race'? My course (11) may well be quite a good 'Elite Middle Race' (5.7 km 295m 21 controls). Excellent

Courses 1 and 3 are also using Bodham wood, hundred acre wood and Kelling heath holiday park. - see final details - for more details.
I ran at Sheringham a couple of years ago, and its excellent. Its a very quick area (even for me) , with lots of brown squiggly lines! The two planners who I both know should provide excellent courses - they usually do.

Thank you for the updates on the area. Obviously I need to get out from the south a little more and have faith in the planner and controller. I look forward to great weekend on two good areas. Pin punches, who cares!

After 520metres of climb King Penguin may need something with four legs.

Best of luck to those who will be running in North Norfolk this weekend. The advance weather forecast for Saturday is that it could be wet but is predicted to be cloudy and dry on Sunday for the Championship event. Enjoy your run.

I will do. The wetter and muddier I get the better. Just hope I don't get lost on the way to Felbrigg this time!

Follow the Brown National Trust signs by turning south off the A148 onto the B1436.
After 500m turn right onto the estate road. One kilometre on is the free car parking close to Felbrigg Hall.

Weather stayed dry if cool (cold!), terrain was in superb condition, really enjoyed my course. First time I've been on the area, although run further east a couple of times (1979 and 1986!). Looking forward to returning some time sooner! Thanks Norfolk for an event that was definitely worth the trip.

Re: Midland Champs
Thanks NOR for an ace event today. Really enjoyed my course and was certainly tested by it!
It was well planned that as we ran alongside the railway line we could hear the whistle of the steam train in the distance. Truely a memorable, well planned and efficiently organised event and I look forward to coming back in the not too distant future.

I note that the very informal Saturday event with pin punching has accrued ranking points. This must be a mistake

It was registered as a level A event, thus eligable for ranking points (as is any event above level C), as it was part of the whole weekend. The current Event registration software does not allow for linked (multi-day) events to be at differing levels. Only way I see to stop any points being allocated is to ensure that the results are uploaded without any BOF numbers in them.

The registration at Level A was a joke, and i don't understand how/why BOF approved it.
And the apparent justification is rubbish - just because you have two events on the same weekend in the same general area doesn't make it a multi-day event (were the Midland champs decided on aggregate times from the two events?) The JOK chasing sprint & Southern Champs are "linked" but the organisers don't seem to have had any difficulty registering them at different levels...
