OCAD help

Sure there is an obvious solution to this problem I am having with getting pictorial control descriptions sorted.

I am course setting using OCAD 8 and the junction/crossing symbol (for path/path junction etc) keeps disappearing from my control descriptions and being unavailable as an option to add in Column 6( there is just the dimension option). This has only just started happening - they were there and now they are not.

What am I doing wrong (apart from not using Condes or Purple Pen)

First of all, check that your version of OCAD is 8.12 or later. if not, there's an 8.13 updater still available from the OCAD website at http://www.ocad.com/en/downloads.htm. The reason is that v8.12 was the first OCAD version to incorporate the 2004 IOF Control Descriptions formats which, amongst other things, moved crossing and junction symbols to column F.

Secondly, if you do have the correct version, then you may be using a courses file created in an older version and will thus be using the pre-2004 CDs and not the ones we use currently. If so, the file brings with it the old CDs and this could be causing your problem.

I remember having this problem before - some time ago now, so I can't remember how we resolved it now. But maybe this diagnosis will prompt a solution from someone else which doesn't involve creating a new courses file from scratch ...

If you edit the symbol (scroll down the list of symbols, right click, select Edit...) there is
a box at the bottom that allows you to select which columns are permitted.

Click box F and an X will show that it is selectable for that column.
