I'm new to routegadget and am trying to set it up for an event last w/e. Having got through some teething issues such as O/H sending wrong files not clicking on all controls to get the control circles to appear I'm now many hours older and a bit greyer and stuck again.
When I've lined up the controls on the base map and click"save" the next screen should show the colour courses and it doesn't - just a box saying OK.
So I'm stuck ay that point no courses or competitors.
Am I doing something very basically wrong (i'm sure I must be!)
I'm using a purple pen xml course file and xml results file.
I have e mailed Paul via the contact box on the RG website but I'm impatient to sort it out as it's annoying me now and i'd like to sleep tonight without dreaming of drop down boxes and xml files.
Any ideas anyone?

Re: Routegadget Help
this sounds similar to the problem I've had at a couple of events recently, it usually boils down to me fixing it somehow then forgetting what I've done. I mentioned it to paul but again without proper information I'm not so sure what to do...
I think the problem originates from some sort of course name reading problem with XML results. are you using Autodownload? Try using the OESplits export and see if that works. I keep meaning to install a test version of RG but never quite getting round to it

Sounds like your "course" field within the results XML file isn't getting picked up by RG. If you've got controls distributed on a map the courses XML file is working ok.
Suggest you post your results XML file inside [code] tags here so we can see what you're starting with. Or as andy suggests, try a different format of results. I usually use SportIdentCSV format.

Re: Routegadget Help
I'll try using a different form of results - need to get o/H to do that.
My Next job will be to learn how to use Sportident I can see.
Then I can use the files I select and only blame myself.
BTW the test to practise with RG is available with just a few clicks and easy to have a go on.
I know that it'll be so so simple when I've done this.
Thanks for the suggestions

Re: Routegadget Help
It's worked on the test trial
Now to try it for real.
Thanks for the suggestions, a different results file did the trick but you gave me the confidence to ask for/demand that new file to try instead.
All done + dusted
Roll on the next event for an action replay.

Re: Routegadget Help
I do occasionally have a problem with an XML splits file and then try it with a OE style CSV and it works.
The advantage of using the special RouteGadget export from AutoDownload is that if you have had a duff control removed from the splits it inserts a 1 second split so that RG can still match the controls up.
