Don't let the shopping get in the way of the Aire Meanwood Local (Level D) Event on Saturday - planned to Middle Distance criteria. All other races over the weekend for miles around have been cancelled.
Final inspection will be this afternoon, but the expectation is it will still be on.

People in Britain can't take responsibility for their own actions, when something goes wrong you have to blame someone else and in some instances try and make a bit of cash out of it.

A fairly sweeping generalisation. As with most generalisations, there is a kernel of truth, but not true of everybody, by any means. Indeed, quite a lot of us work (pretty much full time) at trying to establish just the opposite, and teach children about taking responsibility.

DIDSCO, you're going way too far in condemning the whole country as being infected with a blame culture. What this discussion has identified are some who seek to meet the requirements of risk assessment in a sensible, practical way, and others who are quite happy to stick 2 fingers up to beaurocracy in any guise it appears in. This is a discussion forum so you expect to get different and opposing views, but I haven't seen any post supporting an overly officious view of risk assessment, and I have a lot of faith in the general (and healthy) disrespect that we Brits have for authority.

I suppose at this time of year the risk may be greater if the croc carries around an alarm clock, and you have a prosthetic hand in the form of a hook....
