Re: The Weather
It's not snowing here. You Scots think you're hard because you can deal with a couple of metres of white stuff but you should try living where I live - in the bottom of a lake.
For every winner, there are dozens of losers. Odds are you're one of them.

Only replies from members of clubs affiliated with YHOA allowed to reply -well this is the three Yorkshiremen sketch from (amongst others) "The Secret Policeman's Ball" isn't it?
Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg
Orienteering is cancelled all over
Oh no it isn't. Our club champs is definitely on this Sunday. Unfortunately it is strictly club members and pre-entry only.
However I have the biggest entry ever for this event and only 3 people have cancelled.
I'm considering putting the controls out on skis.

Yup, I can confirm it's pretty snowy down here in the South
and I think in heard there was snow even further south, in some place called "The North"
It seems to me that it's only the Northerners who have been having problems. Down here in the Actual South I have had a fun day tagging control sites in some (very rare) snow.
But now the rain has come and melted it all

Re: The Weather
The SOC event is ON tomorrow Sun 5th, with the rate the snow is melting and the rain during the day, just need to be prepared for wet feet!
Had to cancel the string course as that part of the forest is too wet, and Ultrasport aren't coming either. The good news is Tom's burger van is coming.

Re: The Weather
A rare and very welcome upside to The Weather is I'm now looking forward to strapping on my skinny skis and scooting around a 5.5km Ski-O Course at Dess Wood, Aboyne tomorrow. Quick thinking and map-making by Sarah and Big Jon - great idea

Had a great afternoon, with a run at Crummock Water and around Mellbreak. Still as a duck pond, no wind, and quite warm while running. Wonderful views of the fells. This one is of Whiteless Pike overlooking Rannerdale..... yea!

Yted's snow maze was great entertainment. Perhaps something we can all prepare for those (hopefully) occasional days when everything nearby is snowed off.

Great course in brilliant sunshine - enjoyed all but the southerly legs in the open, for which I couldn't see a ***** thing!
