Re: The Weather
Wow that's brilliant and much easier to make than with barriers. Pity the cat cheated though

"Gosh it must be hard being Scottish - having to be so dour and tough all the time "
Who said anything about being dour? - the skiing has been fantastic from our back door into the local wood and the snow is better than any I can ever remember. I don't feel dour at all, just having lots of fun x-c skiing.
Tough? - well if that means being able to handle what weather throws at us, yes we are tough. But surely its sensible to be able to handle bad weather conditions - they happen regularly in Scotland and even a few parts of the south (or so I've heard occasionally on the news.........

joking aside, I don't envy hill farmers (from all over the country) in weather like this. All the best, Jethro and others!

Re: The Weather
Too right - feed and bedding costs are pretty aggressive right now.
I met one hill farmer last year (which was worse, but who knows what is to come) on the Lammermuir Hills last year. He was a half full man, saying it was great not having to open gates anymore - just drive the quad over where the fence was buried.

Ebor Snow Maze event - competitors needed! I've just got permission from the council to put on a snow maze event on a field by the river for this Sunday December 5th; registration at my house (7, Almery Terrace, York YO30 7DL - 500m from York Railway Station, nearest public parking Marygate car park) from 10.30 to 11.30am - using SI - 50 pence per course, or free to any one with a shovel that helps to dig the paths (from 9.30). I'll plan 6 courses each about 100m with 20 metres climb???

Provided roads are OK there will probably be at least three takers from EPOC

Re: The Weather
Because it's Friday -snowing, Orienteering is cancelled all over so everyone is bored and frustrated -and finally because the cat has forced all the crocodiles into hiding?

Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg
