Exchange for WOC 2011 in France

I have received the following from one of the organisers WOC 2011. Why I was selected to receive it, I have no idea. Since this is a public forum, and I am posting without the permission of the person who sent it, I have removed personal details. If you would be interested in responding, send me a PM and I'll pass it on.

Two of our sons, xxx (14 years old) and xxx (13 years old), have always dreamed of visiting the British Isles and would very much like to go during July 2011. In exchange we would welcome two young orienteers to stay with us in August 2011 during the World Orienteering Championships. They would then be able to take part in the WOC O’Festival (http://www.woc2011.fr/index.php?option= ... 23&lang=en) which includes one week of orienteering.

I am the xxx of WOC 2011 and my orienteering club is heavily involved in the organisation. We live in Savoie, 2 km from the town of Chambéry, and as we can speak English the youngsters would not need to know any French.

I went for a run on the hill above Chambery 3 yrs ago, fabulous terrain and good O right down to the town, I was mapreading on the IGN (frog equiv of OS) map and I was buzzing, i would so much have wanted to be competing in an event there, famous location with good O right down to the town, well in the public view, I wonder whether that will be the venue for the WOC??? Seems ideal.

The official Event and Media Centre of WOC2011 and WTOC2011 will be at the Centre des Congrès in Aix-les-Bains.

The individual events will be staged in the Savoie Grand Revard to the NE of Chambery.

The WOC/WTOC 2011 site has a page of downloadable O-maps, which show the terrain (and the mapping) to be expected next year.
