I don't think it's an particularly issue of responsibility - surely only a university club would have access to things like a Students Union minibus and the like, and transport to events is likely to be one of the main stumbling blocks for students wanting to orienteer.

Probably one of the best explanations that I've seen of the sport.

But what's this, Steve Vernon, he's not an orienteer by tradition yet somehow he conveys the sport much better than the standard beardy you get at our races...

And some of you criticise BOF for hiring non-orienteers...

Definitely informative if someone is swithering about coming along with their kids- but probably falls down a bit on the cool factor by its choice of "participants" if we are looking at M/W20s as per the thread - noone in the videeo to inspire budding athletes I think. I'm also not sure it would convince the sports editor from the "Is Orienteering a sport" thread that he was wrong.....
But we do need publicity wherever we can get it.

Just put a new facebook ad up for one of our events and noticed that Facebook allows adverts to be displayed to people of a specific age and whether people are at university or not (as well as by interests, gender and location), therefore it's possible for clubs willing to spend some money to create an advert specifically targetted at this age group.

Yes - crucially what we need is people who can do the job we want them to do -and I believe, generally, 'they' do - whether Orienteers or not!
