on St Andrews - it's difficult to tell with these kind of events. I'll speak to the person who registered it tonight and see if they can shed any light on why it was L2. I agree, looking back, it should have been L2, can this be changed post-event or is that too much of a faux pas?
As a side, are there any extra insurance issues with L2 over L3? I can see this being a problem with urban races should it exist.

No, the insurance requirements are the same at all levels.

I'm not overly exercised about it either - but it'd be nice to have a bit of consistency in the system. And although you say it didnt make any difference to the event, there's been more than 1 person on here disappointed about the lack of ranking points, which suggests there may have been more people travelled up if it was level 2.

Re: Results and Rankings.
Can someone please remind me what the rules are for courses gaining ranking points ?
Black at Knockalls had 11 starters, 10 finishers yet no points. Is that correct ?

The current rules require ten finishers who are BOF members and have a previous ranking score, so I would guess that at least one of the ten at Knockalls didn't meet those criteria (possibly Christian Wennecke NUUK OK?).

Vaguely related :
I'm about to enter an event in Yorkshire. I'd normally enter Brown, but I see that there's only one other entrant so far. So likely I'll get no points, even if I win (unlikely!).
I am not obsessed by the rankings, but do enjoy seeing how I am doing. As I'm to about lose two of my best scores (oops! They've gone) from last year, I'd like to gain some similar this year. So, I'll probably enter Short Brown, or even Blue.Is this what's intended?
AP.

If you're referring to the SYO Ecclesall Woods event that only has 5 entrants in total so far, then don't worry. Brown will have at least 20 or 30, and Black will have well over 10.

Nope, Sport. (). I'm looking at EPOC's event on 24th October.

OK, but Brown at Stoodley Pike will also certainly get more than 10 people. The person who would normally win at Stoodley is the planner, so you never know...

Pity - though I still enjoyed my run and am glad I chose the Black. Might have encouraged the non-finisher to stay out to the bitter end though rather than graciously cutting short so as not to compromise couse closure time and allow control collection too start - she's just too considerate !

Just noticed that the ranking points for the AIRE Middle Distance event at Bingley St Ives on 6th June have suddenly disappeared. Anyone have any ideas why this has happened?

Re: Results and Rankings.
Yes, I do!
Someone recently asked for an amendment to be made to the results. I made the change and resubmitted the results file. Unfortunately the BO website doesn't calculate ranking points for results uploaded more than (I think) one month after the event. If ranking points are already there it deletes them...
I've been caught out by this before - last time an email to the BO office fixed it. I've asked for it to be sorted out again (and hopefully I'll remember before I do an upload next time!)

Thanks - I thought it was probably an amendment. The system seems a little inflexible though.

Re: Results and Rankings.
There's been a bit of fun in the past 24 hours.
Somehow the system dropped all the hours in our event last weekend meaning that someone that took 62.31 was down as taking 2.31. This led to some very anomolous points - our M80 being allocated 1550
Now that seems to be resolved, but everything has gone into triplicate so if you were 100th in the rankings last week you have suddenly plumeted to 300th.

Yeah - I was checking to see if the results from Burbage had been sorted (they havent) and have plummeted to 4051! Although on the plus side I now have 18 counting scores instead of 6.......
