Enough of all this messing about picking on Trebor - time for a serious topic.
A couple of times within the last year I've been plodding along on my course and seen another bloke (not woman unfortunately) who'd decided it was too hot and gone topless mid course. One of them who I'm not going to name is a top M20.
Now unless something has changed that I don't know about this is against the rules! So while I'm sweating my bits off abiding to the rules these people are cheating. So what do we think?
Topless?

I ran without an o-top on tour and was suprised. I expected to feel no difference but I felt free and it made for a more enjoyable experience- it felt quite natural. You're meant to wear full body cover (ie. O-top + trousers) according to IOF rules but ive known events where your allowed to wear shorts on moorland events- so why not O-top. I would find it quite disturbing and distracting seeing some people topless when im oout orienteering!

aye, me and pyrat went for a training run topless on the islands off goteborg and ended up getting a bitty burnt... not the best way to start off yer holidays!
as for orienteering, don't think i'd want to do it in most forests, would end up getting scratched to [nope] ... ahh when people stop wearing poor quality pyjamas to go orienteering in and wear some good quality materials that help keep them cool this won't be an issue.

You mean wicking tops? I tried that at 0007 national - saturated at about 40 mins so did the remaining hour sopping wet and very heavy. Seeing how the poll's going so far I should've just gone topless...
PS Sweat band saturated at 80 mins and started dribbling very salty water into the eyes. I think I might be gross while running...

Topless runners should have to be vetted at registration, with an approval sticker stuck to the non wearers back if they come up to scratch.
This would ensure only 'fit' bodies are on show.

Well different age groups would have to be represented, I mean Stodgetta might have different views about the 'fitness' of a competitor than perhaps Mrs H for example......
So probably a panel of approvers would be needed !
( needs to be a paid post - anybody want to tender )

We could have a similar system so the girls don't get left out
Perhaps sports bras vetted for sexiness?

I'd be more than happy to form a panel to vet topless men, as long as the vetting started before they took their tops off. Are you up for this Mrs H?
Not so sure about how many women would be keen to go topless (I think the men are far keener for this to happen than the women!). I'm not letting my sports bras out for public vetting - they're far too old and comfortable (Ansons Bank tonight, 7.00, but that's another story!)

Absolutely - You need a bit of experience to be able to sort the men from the boys

I think I might need a bit of practice vetting before I'm sufficiently experienced to do the real thing.
Can I practice at the Sptint Champs, and then have a proper go at Holme Fell?
