Scott, my original point was that a postcode is inferior to a GR. A GR can be used to see where it is on Multimap or a similar site (as well as on an OS Map), but it can ALSO be used in a SatNav (possibly after conversion to coordinates) with greater ease of getting to the spot concerned. And I can certainly tell you of event car parks which very few orienteers would be able to get to by memory, and many more would prefer not to have to memorise how to do so with all the risks that entails if you make an error.
So, always (8 character) GRs please (and whatever else you like as well - eg Multimap direct links, postcodes, etc).

Re: Southern Navigators website
And I would much rather see more embedded maps on websites, coupled with good directions and decent (ie. much, much better than most current events) signing. After all, it's pretty straightforward for those with satnavs to get the latitude and longitude from an embedded Google Map or Multimap, but a big proportion of the general (non-orienteering) population won't have the slightest clue what to do with a grid reference.
The direct link through from the BOF fixtures list to Multimap is good (assuming the fixtures secretary has bothered to enter to correct grid reference), but some club websites/final details (and lots of paper flyers) still seem to think that just providing "GR AA123123" (and maybe "off the A123") is sufficient indication of an event's location. It really isn't.

http://southernnavigators.com now appears to be a site for TomTom satnavs.
It is now Southern Navigators OC, as before.
