Only a few days left (entries close Mon 30 Aug) for clubs to enter their junior team(s) for the Peter Palmer relay on 4 and 5 Sep. BAOC are running the event on a newly mapped area on the outskirts of Nottingham; mainly urban and open parkland with some wooded areas. A bit of a change of terrain from previous years, will this have an adverse effect those teams who have faired well in this event over the past few years?
As there is only limited traffic on site, and there is no military training planned for that time on a Sunday morning, the under 16s competing will be able to cross the roads unsupervised, and at speed!

Peter Palmer Relays this weekend.
Seems like a good time to hold this event, no exams etc. Also for the English clubs a nce central location, hopefully this will pull a good entry.
Is there a team list?
Who's favourite?
I'm guessing OD, MDOC and DEE will be strong.
SYO could be worth a bet

What are your odds on SYO? Peter Palmer Trophy or Joan George this year?

Without knowing who is going it's hard to say.
SARUM is team worth a bet, not only in the small clubs, but I'm guessing they'll challenge for the actual Peter Palmer trophy.

Re: 2010 Peter Palmer Junior Team Relay
Teams entered (and in no particular order) are:
WAOC, HOC, Deeside x 2, SROC, BARRO, Suffoc, SO x 2, EBOR, OD x 2, LOC, SYO x 2, HH, Aire, WCH, WCOC, MDOC, BOK x 2, NOC x 2 and SARUM
Maybe BAOC will actually field a team one of these years; just need another 5 youngsters to run with master Blomquist to make it happen.

25 teams entered. How does this compare to previous years?
Looks like it is going to be a strong competition.

Re: 2010 Peter Palmer Junior Team Relay
A reduction by 8 surprises me. I would have thought the location was fairly central and easily accessed. Obviously not for Scotland.
Clubs not attending this year but did last year: DVO, SOS, SBOC, ERYRI, MAROC, PFO, LOG
Good luck to all teams entered.

There is one ad-hoc team Catfish with a couple of legs still to fill. If you want to run PM me for details.

Re: 2010 Peter Palmer Junior Team Relay
Thanks to BAOC for an excellently organised event. I thought the choice of area was inspired. Did I detect a hint at the prizegiving that they may be willing to do it again next year? I do hope so....
Congratulations to the SYO juniors. About time they emerged from the shaddows of the elite and vets successes within the club.
Other clubs must now be seriously worried about the CompassSport Cup!
