In other news, the payment for GPS tracking/live TV now appears to be working.

Sprint qualifier maps are now up here - looks pretty technical for a sprint.
Apparently GG lost about 40secs on an "unmapped uncrossable fence".

Re: WOC 2010 Trondheim
Initial thoughts on the map and GGs course are that it looks fantastic. Be interested to know where the unmapped fence was - no doubt Rocky will update us in due course - at least he is in the final and if he lost 40s - hes clearly also in with a chance and would have been there or thereabouts!

Re: WOC 2010 Trondheim
surely the reason GPS tracking/TV wasn't working was because it only works for the finals...
seeing as I managed to sleep through the qualifying (and my many alarms) I'm hoping my being awake and aware for the final doesn't have any adverse effects on happenings in Trondheim

Okay, British massively overdrawn card successful. 6.30am feels less successful, but what a way to go on the qualifying! Amazing!

I'm debating whether my dog of a laptop will be able to cope with the gps/tv feedwell enough to be worth shelling out for coverage...

On the page http://live.woc2010.com/ alongside if you go down to where it says Live GPS Tracking it says "Paid finals, free qualifications".
My first thoughts, looking at the sprint qualification maps is that the courses generally looked quite benign, with lots of legs along paths/roads, definitely biased towards the runners.

On the world of O news link http://www.worldofo.com/ GG explains where the uncrossable fence was. Between 9 and 10 on his course, there is a route between two uncrossable fences where on the map they almost but not quite come to a "T" junction. on the ground - they do!

Women's map http://cdn.cloudfiles.mosso.com/c71692/media/image/201008/phpAxtmiYWmap.JPG
Cheeky fence across a road en route to #1 - caught out Broskova, but she recovered very well, just ahead of Pippa.
Pippa in lead at finish
