And only 34 seconds off silver -that's a really top result as it presumably tracked up a bit after Ralph's run.

It's going to be a hell of a call to select the guys' 1st team - which of Ralph, Kris, Spongey and Pete do you drop?!

Re: JWOC Starts Tomorrow!
How about letting them make some of the decision on the basis of how tired they feel?
Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

Re: JWOC Starts Tomorrow!
The relay area looks a lot like Cannock Chase - very different to what they've been running in so far this week.

Re: JWOC Starts Tomorrow!
That should play to our guy's strengths - I am really excited about tomorrow! Can I get up early enough to actually watch it in real time though?
Will? We've got proper fire now!

Re: JWOC Starts Tomorrow!
The relay teams were picked yesterday - nominations had to be in before 12pm today so team GBR could not use today's performances in their selection criteria.
All will become clear soon enough.
We have strong teams for tomorrow. But then so do at least another 8 nations.
If JWOC stopped today this will have been our best week ever. Whatever happens tomorrow I am very proud of our girls and boys.

What time does it kick off tomorrow people? A very brief look on the website was not quite enough to find that out...

Re: JWOC Starts Tomorrow!
with that set of individual results, i predict that Ralph Street will get the best GB result at the JWOC banquet as well.

Cuddles/Spongey/Ralph in that order for the Relay I'm thinking, whoever it is is gonna have a great chance though.
as for the banquet, we've just gotta hope Ali improves on last years performance

So, in the women's it's:
GBR1: Rebecca / Mairead / Hazel
GBR2: Julia / Charlotte / Alice
and in the men's it's:
GBR1: Kris / Ali / Ralph
GBR2: Pete / Matt / Jamie
In both relays the first two legs are the same length, then the third leg is shorter.

Re: JWOC Starts Tomorrow!
Hopefully we'll be able to keep up with the relay progress at the Guildford City Race somehow.
The results this year have certainly been very good. You can try to work out how good for yourself by playing with some of the new features in the Maprunner JWOC database.
Best previous relay results were 4th for the men in 1995 (Jon Duncan, Siggy Gould and Jamie Stevenson) and 7th for the women in 2009 (Hollie Orr, Alice Butt and Anne Edwards).

Relay area old map. Looks just like Cannock Chase. Completely different from previous days.
