EYOC starts tomorrow - http://www.eyoc2010.com
Good luck to all the girls and boys running for GB but (there's always a but!) why are we not sending a full team. Other countries have 4 runners per age class but we are only declaring 3 per age class, yet looking back at the announcement on 21st April on BO web site there is 1 reserve per age class. Surely if we want to be world beaters we have to send a full team to these type of events. I'm sure there will be many juniors watching their mates on-line over the weekend and 4 of them could/should be running alongside them!
Looking at the JIRCS results there's plenty of talent out there.
Bizarrely Ireland are not sending any W18 runners
Is it a funding issue?

Re: EYOC
Another thing, the team apparently only flew out to Spain today, meaning no acclimatisation and no practice in the training areas. The Irish team went after the JIRCS and it appears that Team GB has missed a trick here and potentially disadvantaged the runners. Even an extra day would have made a difference.
Good luck everybody.

'20:46 WoO:
Great Britain just arrived in Soria as the very last team a few minutes ago - now all 29 teams have arrived and are ready for the competitions tomorrow.'
The model event looked good as does the terrain for the long.
Good luck everybody.

Re: EYOC
If we hadn't arrived just before midnight with no experience of Slovenian terrain i'm not sure this would have happened... http://foto.vodopivec.si/2/11/49/2006/e ... G_3975.jpg
The hard work is done at home not a week or one day before the event starts. Money doesn't grow on trees. BO never used to take 16s they do now. Other countries take large teams because they have tens of thousands of participants.

Re: EYOC
great run from the W16s to finish in 4th place. Congratulations. W18s in 10th and the 2 boys teams in 16th place.
The terrain looked really interesting from the website; I wonder how much the long grass did track up?
Good to see a variety of countries winning each class.
