I am sure the course shown on the BOC 77 map was not BOC as it was my first ever one and therefore it's unlikely my memory is wrong on this. The finish WAS at the north end. Also I remember passing through the area where the start of this course is some way round my course. Remember in those days maps were created on printing plates - they would not have wanted to make a new plate just to take of the BOC wording.

Having now found the right map I can confirm that you are right!!

Interesting innovation in that the controls had the control code on, not the number of the control. And the site of #2 then was the same as #10 today.

This was the Dennis Howell BOC in the middle of the heatwave.

seems to be a problem with the playback speed. No matter how many times I click or hold + it still won't go faster than a snail with a broken foot.

There is indeed a problem with the RouteGadget.
The reason for no animation is that there are no split times (look in the box at the top right after selecting a runner and clicking "View Routes".
The gadget is not on the RouteGadget UK site so I can't investigate the problem, but I have notified them.
It may be best not to add any more routes until it is fixed.
