just had an email from the organiser, he likes the idea of using Nopesport to organise ad hoc teams, and is going to add something to the flier (a more detailed version is going up soon apparently).
I've volunteered to kick something off here tomorrow, a bit late now.

Re: Harvester Relays
I'm thinking of starting a thread with this information. Any comments before I start it?
"Want to go to the harvesters this year but your club can't make a team? Or has your club got a few spare runners? Or are you an individual looking for a run?
You can use this thread to make a team.
Either a) Post a message starting with "RUNNERS OFFERED" with details about the people.
b) Look through the people on this list and see if you can help them make a team. If you can, send them a private message.
If you find a team, please post "TEAM FOUND" so that everyone knows you are not available, then liase with your new team to pay and meet up on the day/night. Entries close May 1st.
For those posting RUNNERS OFFERED messages, don't forget to log in to Nopesport regularly to check if you have any messages. When posting please post the following information.
Number of runners.
What courses your runners can run (ie A or B)
What leg each runner can run.
Any other relevant information
Here is an example:

RUNNERS OFFERED: 3 Runners.
Will do either A or B.
Runner 1: Any course, but would prefer either a long night course or a long day course
Runner 2: Only day legs or the TD3 dawn leg.
Runner 3: Any dawn or day legs, but would prefer TD4 or TD5 legs. We are average standard runners from a small club."

Re: Harvester Relays
Might be worth explicitly stating up front that teams made up in this way will be non-competitive for the trophies (since they will not be from a single club).

Re: Harvester Relays
Only 3 teams entered so far
, though maybe clubs are still working out who will get back though the ash clouds in time.
There are some more details on the Saxons website. Looks like the campsite isn't near Eridge station, and a train to Tunbridge Wells then a bus looks best for those coming via public transport. Says that the buses are hourly - not bad for Kent. Tunbridge Wells to London is a good line.
Interestingly there is a new "Saxons harvesters trophy" for any team on the B course (including mixed club teams) who are not eligable for any other competition.
I understand no-one has volunteered to organise the Harvesters in 2011, so there is a good chance this might be the last ever Harvesters (though we've said this before).

Blimey - and we are one of the three - The Capt's never been that organised before
Sean don't worry the Student clubs will doubtless enter several milliseconds before entries close

Yes I heard Young Neville say he thought he was going - and he doesn't even know which team he is in for BRC yet
I have heard HOC will probably be sending at least 2 teams.

I hear the SO captain is stuck in Asia until the volcano relents, which can't be helping.

Luckily the SO captain is based in a decent hotel in Beijing with internet access so is trying to co-ordinate SO teams from a distance via e-mail. I just hope that the ash relents and he makes it home for the British.

Re: Harvester Relays
I have to say that Eridge Park was magnificent in the Spring sunshine last weekend and walking around on Roger Maher's fabulous map, taping control sites for the Sunday Regional event, I felt privileged to be there. There will be some great views from the hilltop where camping/handover, etc. is to be sited to the woodland to the north especially, where headlamps should clearly be seen marking runners progress in the main Harvester Relay.

Re: Harvester Relays
so there's currently a lack of information regarding starting time for Saturday's chasing sprint - which would be useful so I know what time we need to pick up a minibus that morning! - can anyone help?
Also, it looks like we may have a spare leg in the A-relay (don't quote me on that though!) - pm if you're interested (managed to loose the 'find a runner' thread) - but you'll probably be put on one of the TD4 legs (2/6)

Straight from the organiser...
" have added the following to the flyer:
Start Sat 1-2pm Prices £5 Juniors £3 .
Entries available on day subject to map availability
The final details will give much more and will be put up when controller approves them = soon.
Final day for entries is THIS SATURDAY (the date of the British)
I expect a flood of late entries soon!"
