JK Parking Permits
Can anyone confirm when the JK parking permits were sent out? Although paid for, I've no recollection of ours having arrived.

Yeah, you can purchase them on the gate at any of the days. £6 for cars and campervans, £15 for minibuses, £30 for coaches

Re: JK Parking Permits
Ours came with the programme (some time last week I think), but it's quite small and I didn't realise it was in the envelope. I had to go through the recycling box to find it, when we heard that other people had got them. I have a vague recollection of this happening to someone else last year.

Mine appeared on its own in a small envelope some time last week. I hadn't ordered a paper copy of the programme so I wasn't expecting anything else to arrive with it.

They came in a rather anonymous envelope. The sort that could (in my case, very nearly did) get thrown out unopened with all the other junk mail.

..ditto.....posted first class too in A5 envelope - I think the distribution of parking passes where people have not requested a set of printed details needs a cost cutting rethink - hows this:
People who don't want pre-printed details are definitely using the internet - why not send them out a code to down load their own parking permit

Agree - the opportunity to download would be an improvement - I also had to struggle to find it in the junk mail pile.
Does anyone know how easy would it be for an organiser to set up a parking permit download process? If it is straight forward then certainly should be something to consider for all sorts of future events.

Re: JK Parking Permits
I think technically it would be quite easy to set up a password-protected web page which said "I am a JK parking permit" which could then be printed. The password could then be sent by email to those who had paid online.
There would be an issue of trust. The system would be open to abuse in many ways. For example, people who had paid giving the password to people who had not, or people printing multiple copies of the permit.

Re: JK Parking Permits
Ah c'mon guys
what's to stop me photocopying my parking permit and printing it out on photo paper and selling them half price on the gate!
surely we can be trusted that far
i reckon Fabian4 could load the process for automatic delivery - no extra work for the organisers and no extra cost for the event (he could probably get an individual number printed on the download accessed so that spot checks could be carried out (threatened) imagine the embarrassment of being caught with a bootlegged parking permit

Re: JK Parking Permits
I would have thought that any system that allowed you to download your parking permit could be tailored by the organiser's software to your name and car registration, car type and/or whatever other unique identifiers were thought appropriate.
All this would be at little cost to the organiser and a lot cheaper and reliable than professionally printing and then sending the permit by post. I guess there still would need to be some for those that want a printed permit or buy one on the day, although on thinking about this, these souls could pay for or collect a downloaded version from registration/enquiries on arrival, in return for a parking ticket or similar handed to them on parking.

The Park Run organisation recently moved to using bar codes to record finish times, and everyone was sent an email with a link to a personalised PDF file. It should be easy to do the same, perhaps with the registration number on the permit.

Re: JK Parking Permits
Hmm... so ours didn't arrive with the programme (as far as I know) and we've been down in Devon since last Friday. Anyone know if we're likely to be able to pick up a replacement on Friday?
