Burnham Beeches
I'd just like to say a big thank you too all involved with the event at Burnham today - the organisers coped admirably with the parking field turning into a morass, and (always a good sign) I really enjoyed the event despite having a pretty bad run in some slightly unpleasant weather
.

And I thought being car parking team leader was going to be easy.......
Many thanks to the competitors for your flexibilty in parking all over the back lanes of Bucks.
To those of you who made favourable comments to my small band of wet, cold, determined volunteers - your expressions of gratitude meant a lot to them and I even may be able to get them to help again! Thank you

Re: Burnham Beeches
Another thank you to HH. The conditions whilst driving to the event were some of the most unlpeasant I have ever encountered on a motorway so I was somewhat apprehensive when I arrived. No need. Everything working fine, enjoyable course, results processing fine. Well done.
My only trouble as an M55 was trying to read the 1:15,000 map on the Brown course.
. Of course, if I had put my contact lenses in the right way round it might have helped...

Re: Burnham Beeches
We were much luckier over in Dymock. Dry for the entire event, just about enough hard standing parking. Woods were muddy particualarly the paths, lovely red Herefordshire Clay.
Shame both events were on same day as Burnham Beeches is one event I might travel a couple of hours for

Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

Re: Burnham Beeches
The forecast was terrible, though had just about stopped by the time Id arrived. I enjoyed the course(Brown), and found many more favourable routes whilst sat in the pub afterwards. Only downside I found was the price charged for Adult Newcomers on TD1/2/3 courses...15 quid...how that links to 'Increasing Participation'...im not sure..
