I better come clean and admit I don't actually own an ABBA recording in any format whatsoever I could not actually choose between Pink Floyd The Division Bell (the older I get the more profoundly moving I find it ) and Dire Straight - Brothers in Arms probably because I went to see them on that tour at the NEC in 1986 I think - it was incredible. both of them may come over as somewhat pretentious now - but like I've said before we were definitely less sophisticated then - and you cannot knock the musicianship of them. (Oh dear, I'm sounding defensive )

The Division Bell is one of the few Floyd albums I don't have - maybe I should.

Almost put Dark Side of the Moon up here the other day, but didn't want to be seen as an aging hippy

There was a Radio 4 programme about DSotM that I was listnening to on the way to the Dumpling Day 1 which got me into it again - sadly did nothing for my performance that day

Anything by the Manics, the best Welsh band by miles.

Also a bit of ZZ Top, Eagles and Dire Straits (well played Mrs H!) always does it for me.

And strangely the Alkaline Trio - From Here To Infirmary never disappoints
