Thought I would start a new string re the British Night Championships.
The event will be centred at Dreghorn Barracks where we have access to fantatstic car parking on the parade ground. Event headquarters will be set up in the gym where we have access to male and female changing rooms and "hot showers". So if you head out, get cold and wet you can at least look forward to a hot shower.
We are planning for the cafe to open serving hot tea, coffee and a selection of tasty bites to stave off those post event hunger pangs.
Starts will be from 7-7:15pm.............it will be dark.
entries are via o-entries and are open. Further details can be found on the ESOC website.
Finally, the event may be covered on the adventure show. This could be a major opportunity to showcase orienteering. Watch this space.
Any questions, contact the organiser..........that would be me!
arra best

...and for added entertainment, the Scottish Sprint Champs on the same day, a couple of miles away. Technical enough to challenge, just the one race, so as not to tire you out. Starts from 1-2:30. Hot showers, food, and um, beer etc. available at assembly
Any questions*, contact the planner or the mapper..........that would be me!
* Just don't ask what level of event it is, I haven't got a clue!

Re: British Night Champs 2010
Several people asked that - the answer is yes. We're using the standard 12 month BOF embargo for level 2 events, with a modification to the time unit.
So there's a 12 hour embargo on the KB site
, except for the entrance road between West Mains Drive and assembly. Exception will be made for anyone doing the KB5 road race prior to running (they deserve it!).
We did actually think quite hard about this, and reckon that almost all likely Scottish winners will be familiar with KB, so allowing everyone to run is the best option. Some English might be disadvantaged by unfamiliarity, but they'll have much more fun.
So there's no excuse not to enter then mharky, start the process of passing your mum in the ranking

Re: British Night Champs 2010
For anyone thinking of travelling up to the British Night Champs weekend from London or SE England, I have a spare set of very cheap train tickets, leaving London at 0800 on Saturday 6 March and leaving Edinburgh at 1630 on the Sunday 7 March to travel back down - I can't make it now as the VM is the same weekend. The timings should mean you can go to all three races. Please PM me if you are interested (cost £33). No railcard needed.
Stop talking, start running.
