With the Compass Sport Cup Scottish round being postponed, there's a decent weekend's sport on offer in Moray on 6/7 Feb. The Scottish Masters Cross Country Champs are being held at Forres on Sat 6th with our own colour coded event at Darnaway on the Sunday. I do realise that this clashes with the Nopesport Urban League race at Carlisle on Sat. As far as Darnaway goes, the snow's melting nicely and we hope to be able to get the map updates and control tagging done next week to provide a decent day's orienteering in a previous World Champs area.
I guess that entries for the XC will be via running clubs - I will try to find out if EOD is available and post the answer on this thread ASAP. Forres harriers have asked their own members to declare their intention to run by 19 Jan. Age categories are in 5-year blocks from M/W 35 upwards and the event's at Grant Park and Cluny Hill (the venue for the sprint race in Moray 2003)

Re: Scottish Masters Cross Country Champs
I would lke to add that there is discounted entry for those entering online (Fabian) so that we can calculate map printing numbers more acurately. Not that eods are not welcome of course.

Re: Scottish Masters Cross Country Champs
For anybody thinking of doing the Masters XC - apparently entries are via clubs only and the closing date is 23 Jan.... pre entries for Darnaway (£4/£1.50) are available for considerably longer.

Re: Scottish Masters Cross Country Champs
Entry through clubs, and you have to join scottishathletics, so you wont see much change from £25 unless you're a committed runner (in which case you probably knew about it already).
I ran it in 2001: it's an excellent course, hilly and firm under foot, but Darnaway is more of an attraction these days. Any chance of another big race up there?
