Apologies for poor maths - my ratio should have been more like 1:10. This is why I have to triple check that I've got the map scale correct.

Re: Sue Harvey MBE
Have to agree with Simon and his comment on the spending of the VAT rebate on a totally pointless consultancy project. I seem to remember it was all done and dusted before many of the members cottoned on to the spend. Something like a Trust Fund to support mapping projects would have been far more worthwhile. It was a truely scandalous waste of money.

Re: Sue Harvey MBE
What should have been a celebration of a member of the Orienteering community receiving an MBE for services to Orienteering has become a negative diatribe on some other topic. How many other sports in the UK have a British President of their International Federation? This should be a cause for celebration!
I do wonder how the professional mappers get on when they cannot see the wood for the trees.

Inclined to agree Andypat. It's this, Dan Brown or the snooker.

You could start some banter eg. "Things you can do with a bucket of snow?"
Or something that will start a really good row.

My only prior knowledge of Simon Beck came from the Simon Beck Memorial Trophy, which OUOC award annually for the best (or worst, it's not entirely clear) dancing at a club event in the previous year.

Re: Sue Harvey MBE
and so Scott
I'm glad he didn't go to Sheffield or the trophy might have come home at Christmas with Young Neville and his dirty washing (I've heard reports of the Spook weekend
