Out of interest is 'Lauren' the same girl that stayed in our guest apartment in Gothenburg earlier this year, when Jason was over with some of the Scottish juniors?
She seemed like a tough girl anyway. Its quality she's out in Halden training her 'o' skills, running at night, and aiming to reach a higher level. Nice one.

Don't know Dids I just met her just before that night training and when I saw her again on Sunday at the chase start she was well up for it and didn't seem bothered at all by Friday night's adventures. Like you say it's great to see junors taking initiative to get extra training. I'm sure she'll go far in orienteering if she wants to.

Aye, off her own back she came along on the Nope Training Week back in 2006 and was really determined to get a lot out of it, results wise she has been improving ever since. Shows that if you want something enough you need to get stuck in and go get it, don't wait for opportunities to be handed to you on a plate.

Lauren,
you are not the only Brit who has got lost at night in Norway - and that's experience talking.
The main thing is you are OK.
Good on you for going and getting the experience. I was about twice your age before I plucked up the courage to go night orienteering in Norway and I was fortunate to find someone to follow back, else......
top tip for nopesport don't think the flippant or rude post reflects the opinion of the majority - most orienteers are good people
