I've become more price and location sensitive with going orienteering in recent years. Expensive fees and unappealing areas (IMO, last year's JK) I just won't bother. When there is decent areas that appeal to me then it requires a bit more consideration to balance up the expense (including entries, travel, accom etc) so I'm still weighing up whether to bother with the JK next year.
The only race that really appeals is the classic on Braunton Burrows, and I'm pretty keen to race in the relay even if the JK open relay is now completely devoid of it's previous distinction, what with now being yet another 3 leg relay. The middle area doesn't sound that great and I can give or take the sprint.
Given that I'll probably skip the first couple of days and save my money for travels to better races, like the preceding weekend at Touch and the Trossachs.
