Were any of the trophies handed out on the day?
M18, M20 Tom
M21, M35 DaveG
M40 JohnT
Oleg doesn't deserve a trophy for being cheeky and nearly beating me to the control after his maverick route choice

I confused the system by borrowing the wife's SI card - my splits say W21!

M18 Tom, M20 if no-one in right age ? don't bother, M21 Dave G (I've no idea how old he really is), M35 ? don't bother if no-one in right age, M40 Clive, presume you got an M45 one or does the M40 one cover M45 as well?
I don't think anyone should get more than 1 age band trophy, but also don't care that much.

Graeme,
simple imho: I would go for the no-one gets more than one trophy approach - spread the tin around. Moreover, I would award the "higher" trophy first allowing running up.
I>E.
Godders M21
JT M35 running up
You M40 running up
Tom M20 running up
Jonny M18 2nd M18 but Tom gets M20

Re: Pin the tail on the donkey
Underlines the silliness of all those age classes, especially for something as local as Lothian Champs. Just as silly as at, say, YHOA Champs.
Dave Godfree best Open male; John Tullie best Vet (O-40), Tom Ryan best junior.

Re: Pin the tail on the donkey
It might seem silly but for many juniors this is their first taste of winning something, and for many seniors who haven't a chance of winning at Scottish level this is a chance to at least be a regional winner. We need to encourage as many people as possible so don't knock it. And some of the trophies are really nice (apart from the grim reaper ones !)

I should perhaps point out that the Borders and Fife have not been taken over by their city neighbours! It is of course the East of Scotland Champs!!!!!!!

I'd like to point out the opposite, East and West Lothian are nothing on the Mighty Mid!!!

For the East of Scotland Championships, M18s run Blue, not Brown.

Re: Pin the tail on the donkey
At the ESOA AGM some people felt that as the courses to be ran for each trophy were clearly stated in the info then anyone choosing to run up on a different course should have stated on their entry form (which everyone filled in), which trophy they were then competing for. eg if an M45 was after the M21 trophy on brown then M21 should have been the category put on the form not M45, as the M45 trophy was decided on the blue course.

Re: Pin the tail on the donkey
Which would be fair enough, except that the classes which appeared in the results came from the SI database, not the entry forms.

Re: Pin the tail on the donkey
Are you sure they weren't changed if the form said something different? That was the impression I got last night, it sounded as though the forms for potential trophy winners had been studied, although I was fairly peripheral to the conversation. If you/ others put a different class on the entry form that would make you eligible then I'd raise it with the KFO organiser.
