Where is the competition next year BTW?
The quote you quoted was not mine but someone elses.
No-one at the prizegiving knew where it will be next year. I suspect no club has as yet volunteered to run it.

Sorry.
But what is wrong with the Isle Of Wight Mrs H?
It's overseas but you don't need a medical certificate.

The Isle of wight is a very lovely place - indeed my grandfather was born there - but as a venue for the PPJR it might as well be a foreign country in terms of the difficulty and expense of getting a team of juniors there for an ordinary term time weekend.

It's not end of the world expensive or far though. Sailing from Lymington is 40 minutes + 30 minute checkin , and the website says £40 for 2 adults and 3 children + car for a random sat/sun day in October from Lymington. And it would be somewhere different.

The ferry ride may only be 40 minutes, but getting there from Aberdeen would take a wee while longer.
While I was patrolling in the wood yesterday morning I wondered how much it would cost to have a video camera set up by one of the controls sending live footage to the arena. Any ideas?

That's always the argument when a peripheral location is chosen for a big event. Or are some of you giving me The Needles.

If no other club is interested perhaps Maroc could put it on - sleep in Aboyne Academy hall, nice couple of areas about 1km away......... And nice and close for our teams to get to

A video camera, in woodland, filming youngsters running around in lycra? Sounds like a Child Protection nightmare
