I don't understand this unless gross is deliberately being misleading, since there is more than one WC reference on the web site with an overall result for Graham/Sarah and a pointer to the full results.

and I doubt if many recent graduates have even struggled through the BOF coaching courses (would they appoint someone without a BOF coach qualification?).

So, someone about to retire? Someone who can bin their job for a year? Someone currently unemployed?

In fact, it should be a fairly easy job: Edinburgh has plenty of people around with international experience, and coaching ability, and three strong clubs. What's really needed is a bit of coordination.

maybe it is time to get at BOf again - just look at the latest Focus magazine...
32 pages, and 25 feature articles and photos of Squad members - surely this is more like Squad magazine?
The majority of members are 'ordinary' members, so surely Focus should reflect this, and not glorify the Squad's "achievements". By all means have fancy colour photos, but it should be balanced with photos of 'ordinary' members.

LOT, I admire your stirring stick. I suppose when you watch the 10 o'clock news you want to hear stories about John Smith from London who got up, had a cup of tea and went to work, sat at his desk all day, came home, ate some tea, watched the telly, then went to bed? Because that would be more typical of the lives of most of the population than hearing about all these things which go on that haven't happened to us. I hope next time you do something notable/interesting/to a high standard/inspirational no-one gives a rats-ass because they didn't do it themselves.

LostOldTimer, I have no idea how many people agree with about Focus, but for one, I totally DISagree with you. It is a very professional, bright magazine that shows off orienteering really well.

People reading it will certainly come to the conclusion that orienteering is a serious sport with some top class runners on the international scene. If you can't stand to read your copy then please leave it in your doctor's waiting room..... some people will have their day brightened when they read it!
