Re: 6-Days run in competition
They had a similar competition at the French 3-days in Fontainebleau earlier this month. It was doubly exciting as the run-ins took convoluted routes through the trees, and there were large boulders in the run-in on some days - better than a boring 300m across a field. After three days it came down to a tie so they had a head-to-head rerun down the third day's run-in to decide the winner.

Re: 6-Days run in competition
right, well i'll be sure to go through the results each evening and announce the winner the next day. hopefully the last control is a common one. i think the elite WRE event has a separate last control and run in, so they are out of it, oh well!
the only rules are you have to finish the day, you have to run the whole length of the run-in, on your own with your SI card (no relays or chucking it), no drugs. taking a breather is frowned upon only.

Shame I've geared my training regime up for distance

Every day to count?
What about the planners, controllers and other officials who are missing a day?

I'll try and get prizes for each day and overall
they only way to really do overall is combined time, do people think it is fair to extrapolate an average for event officials?

best 4 of 6, giving points based on number of standard deviations from the median
you can't really do averages with different lengths of run in (and there are only a handful of non-running officials) so just do all 6 combined, and if anyone complains then call them a cry baby and tell them not to volunteer in future*
I might be able to get a printout/spreadsheet of fastest run in times, but I can't guarantee it, I'll have a word with the powers that be
