Re: World Games
It starts on Friday from 1400 (which is 0700 BST) with the Sprint, then it's Middle from 1230 (0530 BST) Saturday, and Mixed Relay from 1400 (0700 BST) Sunday.
Based on the old maps the Sprint area doesn't look very technically challenging, and the Middle and Relay are on a map with more water than land
, so that should be fun.
Anyway, there are links for live video, and they've got TracTrac involved, so should be good for internet spectating.

That would be on the line course where late starters reel in the leaders?

Well, that was exciting! Hubmann and Khramov are both insanely fast. Almost made it worth getting up at 7am to watch the whole thing.

Re: World Games
A few reflections now I've made it in to work...
Will I be watching for another two days...maybe!

- Though the course was well planned for TV coverage the director made a great attempt to screw it up by switching camera shots at random and managing to miss many of the important moments. If it hadn't been for the commentary (Per again) and tracking it would have been impossible to follow.
- For a major global sporting event there wasn't much of an atmosphere. Even when the local runner came in with a decent time there weren't many people shouting.
- Even though IOF keep saying that the top guys rate this as being as important as WOC (or more so), it was a pretty depleted field. Hardly any of the top 10 women went - if Minna hadn't been there it would have been a bit ridiculous.
- Hubmann was unlucky - Khramov had Oberg to chase down at the end. Luck of the draw I guess, though it was cruel to have the camera pointing at him as he found out he'd missed out (while lying in a heap at the finish).

Re: World Games
It's just a guess, but was the location for the middle/relay chosen because a big lake gives some TV opportunities? Cameras with zoom on maximum from the islands/causeways etc might give some good footage of legs on the steep slopes by the lake?
Will there be any video clip highlights? Might be good for publicity and for those who's video streaming doesn't work.

Re: World Games
In the Middle, 17th for Helen, 9th for Sarah. Sarah missed the penultimate control and lost a minute or maybe 70 secs - until then it was looking like a possible bronze medal
.
Great win for Hanny Alston, to follow yesterday's Silver.
