Re: JWOC 2009
I've just looked at the Promovideo on their website. If I hadn't had great experience of Italian events and organisation I'd think this was being put on by a large beaurocracy that knew little about orienteering.
Not a single shot of orienteering until in the final minute. Long shots of climbing and mountain biking

Some top quality blurred photos going on there, and some (i.e. about 100) top quality photos of Italian Folk dancers.
Anyone know if the 2 swiss lads currently at the top are twins?

Not a great day so far for GBR, nobody in the top 30, but Ralph and Kris are about to start... fingers crossed.

Re: JWOC 2009
Live link is up again for the Long. Looks like Alice has had a great run. Matt's well up at the first check as well, considering that the leading Swede was one of the favourites.
Shame I've got a meeting all afternoon!

Re: JWOC 2009
thankfully they seem to have improved / changed their live results, so you can order them by nation / name. search doesn't seem to be able to be reset, guess you can't have everything.
long well underway now, seems to be a hell of a lot of people running...

Re: JWOC 2009
Looks like there is fog up in the area now, which could be making the navigation even trickier for the later starters. Quite cold (under 10 C) and raining as well, so conditions underfoot will get pretty slippery. No countries really dominating early on, but a good start for team GB
Alice has put in a great time from an early start with a steady and accurate run - plenty of the 'favourites' (like Beata Falk) are losing a lot of time before the first radio control and struggling to pull it back. Hazel also up there through the first couple of radio controls. Matt and Peter seem to have had steady runs on the men's too - but there's a long way to go, last starters at 1440 (men) and 1410 (women) UK time.
