MAROC Ultra Sprint

MArOC are to be applauded in putting on Scotlands first ultra sprint race on Sunday week, although I only know because I happen to have seen a brief article on the SOA website.

I do hope that it will be a knock-out, or at the very least head to head racing - that's where all the pressure comes from. Can anyone enlighten me as to the format.

not a true ultra-sprint (and somewhat of a closed event).

though I was going to extend the above this year to be more of an ultrasprint just to get a feel for it from a planning / organising perspective...

What an amazing effort from MAROC and Jonquil in particular. After an excellent conventional event in Ballogie, the ultra sprint was fantastic - people of all shapes and sizes everywhere. A tiny bit of land but, for me some 25 minutes of concentration (maybe not really ultra sprinting )

As usual the title "ultra-sprint" is about the worst possible name to give this sort of event - just encourages people to run fast..... "Ultrs-short" would be better, or even "Ultra-steady"
