I'm not sure what has happened to the MDOC event web site which should have a link to start times for the Stockport event on Sunday. However, it isn't currently there.
The times can be found at http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~watson/Stockport.html
Entries don't close until Friday night so the list will be updated between now and Saturday morning (when your late entries flood in!). Note, there is also EOD subject to map availability.

Re: Stockport Start List
Is it still unlimited entry on the day for courses 3 and 4?....and does that mean an endless supply of maps?

Yes, sorry, I should have made it clearer. Unlimited for 3 & 4
As I understand it, courses 3 & 4 will fit on A4 maps and we will have a printer/generator to produce maps on demand. The A3 technology is less portable and hence there will only be a limited pre-printed supply for 1 & 2.
The only limit might be start slots, but I'm sure we will be flexible on the start period if the demand is there!

Glad I saw this. I'm coming on public transport and won't be able to get to Stockport till after my start time (train arrives 11.07 , start time 10.52) - will I be able to change my time?

Absolutely not Wendles! - you'll just have to add the delay to your race time

No problem, I will sort it out this evening to be near to 1200 (just in case the train is late)

Re: Stockport Start List
Thankyou to MDOCcers for staging a physical and tricky street race today. I did course 3 and I really had to keep my wits about me to make sure I was on the right level for some controls, and obviously made a poor route choice to number 16 (121) from 15 (125) looking at the splits - but still trying to work out where I could have gone. Will look forward to route gadget to sort that one out. I reckon if you found routes that avoided staircases then you had the advantage. Did anyone go backwards and up the ramp from my number 10 (115) to number 11 (118)? I missed that route choice and then had to negotiate several flights of steps which just took it out of me. Then I finished up in a dead end on the wrong level. Brilliant!

Boohoo Wendles - you still beat me. I thought it was much trickier than last year and struggled to actually read the map at times - I think I'm running okay but frequently have to stop to see what i'm doing. 15-16 I went NW down steps SW onto road then S then SW through snicket then NW on road following round to the 2nd turning on the left. 10-11 I ran W along the road then up the double steps near the edge of the map and straight down the road to the control.

I'll second (or "third"?) Wendles' and Mrs H's comments in thanking the planner and organiser, was definitely worth coming up for.
The only downer was the lack of competition on the women's open - where were you all W21s??? But the organising club has little to do with that. So once again, a thank you to MDOC for staging an exciting event.

I struggled to read the map too and I can now see where I lost the time. I never saw the sneaky snicket and went right round and up the steps by the bridge - those steps get me every time!

For the second year running this event has clashed with CLARO's Knaresborough
Street event, which must have siphoned off quite a few potential competitors.
Why don't the regional fixtures secretaries talk to each other about similar events
being held on the same day only just over 120km from each other?

Re: Stockport Start List
More important was actually the clash with the Harvester, there were at least 6 SYO women there that would probably have run Stockport (or Knaresborough) if it hadn't clashed.

The Harvester didn't clash. It was quite possible to do both!
