Results from today's race at York are now included in the standings:
Men, Women.
There was no designated course for M/W18-, although prizes for M/W16- were awarded on the C course. Points have been awarded from 100 downwards to those M/W18- competitors who ran the main races (course A for men, course B for women). The points have been continued downwards for runners on the C course.

Results from the Stockport race are now included in the standings:
Men, Women.
Just three people have been to all four events: Carol Edwards (TVOC), Mark Thompson (FVO) and Doug Henderson (RR). Despite Doug mispunching in Stockport, all are leading their classes -- or in Mark's case, the class above his own.

Re: Nopesport Urban League 2009
Entries are now open for the London City Race on 12th September. Also further details on location etc added on the event website at http://www.cityrace.org/ . We have a significant map extension (to the west) from last year. Courses will be about 20-25% longer than last year to make the most of the area. 50 minutes of continuously challenging urban orienteering for the winners on the Open classes so come along and enjoy the challenge.
We have also added a Mini Race for younger juniors that is not part of the Nopesport Urban League and will be interested to see what the takeup on it is.
The Planner!

For those of you who like to plan that far ahead, the 2010 Lincoln City race will be taking place on Sunday September 5th.....

Great. Now all we need is for the Urban League organisers to make an early decision about whether Lincoln is in or out of the league.

Well, if this year is anything to go by, I would expect their decision about April 2010...

Just hope it doesn't lead to a triple clash with the SE Sprints and SW Sprints, both on that weekend (Sat 5 Sep) this year.
I'm just the results bod and have no influence on such matters, but I gather that the Urban League organisers will be more likely to include Lincoln in the series if there's an event of some sort nearby on the Saturday so that people can make a weekend of it. Any areas that might be suitable for an EMOA Middle Champs? (No, perhaps not at that time of year.) What about a long-O / bike-O / duathlon-O in Sherwood forest?

Well, provisionally, I see that Sheffield have their city race booked for Saturday 4th September next year, so that could be an urban double-header within a 50mile radius. But my money will be on only one of us featuring in the league....

Not sure that I would see this year as a 'clash' really. The events are 164.2 miles apart according to AA route planner and would you really travel a very great distance for a sprint race (unless, perhaps, you are Usain Bolt?). Anyway, the University of Bournemouth event hardly compares with the the University of Kent at Canterbury, mapped by GG and with planning by Nick Barrable - there is even a rumour that Usain may be competing.

There is also the SE middle distance champs nearby at Blean Wood on Sunday 6th to savour.

Yes, both Usain Bolt and Carol Edwards will be very welcome at Canterbury.

It's a clash if you're roughly halfway between them and would travel that far for a weekend. The SW Sprints have The Beast very nearby on Sunday, which I thoroughly enjoyed last time I ran it (more than Supersaint I suspect...); it usually (on its own) forms the basis of a weekend away for people from my running club.
As for Usain -- he's awesome, but I predict that he won't beat me that weekend.

Re: Nopesport Urban League 2009
Does anyone know if any dates have been put forward for 2010 races? I am particularly interested in finding out of the Edinburgh race will be in January again and which weekend. I have tried emailing the club but there is no response.

There were flyers being distributed at the S6D about the Edinburgh weekend. I binned mine but I'm sure it was the same corresponding w/e as previous years ie Sat 23rd Jan.
