Catching Features

I'm currently trying to make the control flags larger so I can actually find them. Is it just me or does CF like hiding them behind or on top of vegetation?

Quite often I find that they are visible from a long way off, then the low vegetation appears as you get near to them and the flag disappears again..
I also find it very annoying when you just miss the flag as you go past it the first time, and have to turn round to get it - you lose track of where you were going to go next sometimes.

I've justed downloaded the demo whichich is great but in the intro map there is no map to look at or course, so you just end up running aimlessly please!!!! can I have some help!!

Scary just like orienteering...
you just miss the control and rush out in the wrong way!

in the game the "r" key does just that job.

CHS - this has happened to a few folk i know, generally cos they either had a rubbish video card or didn't have the newest video card drivers. try updating them from manufacturers website.

I've tried it, and the 'r' key only rotates the map to the direction of the next line on your map. In an ideal world where I can go straight this would be fine, but I tend to get lost and run in circles so i need it to turn in the way that im facing. any help anyone?

Cutting comment there mr trebor. In actual fact navigating in CF is much harder than actual orienteering due to everything looking exactly the same.

i think navigatin in CF is easier than in real life, or the maps i have been on are, because visibility is awlays good, even in green. What is hard is when you get right next to the control as then you can only see what the screen shows you, in real life you would have far more vision.

sometimes both...

as others have said r lines up on the leg - what about when you don't want to run straight - eg that stupidly hilly area!

i think the mouse can be easier for that sort of thing when looking at the map standing still, dunno about when running tho.
