Lyme Disease

As we get to the summer season , ticks become more prevelant and the undergrowth is higher making it easier for them to transfer on to us. It's worth a reminder about lyme disease, ticks generally and how to remove them.

And you should not ignore the possibility of catching Tick Borne Encephilitis.... which is endemic through much of mainland europe (well not TBC itself but ticks carrying it).... but coz no-one died in Mexico you won't hear about it on the news.

Its certainly tick-time in East Anglia.

I've just about finished first draft of a completely new area and bought some of the little blighters back home on each visit in April. The wood definitely had more deer per acre (especially muntjac) than any I've previously mapped.

At least the forest mapping season is over (the nettles have really taken off this year) so its over to parks and schools which tend to be uninfested.
