I do think the website address makes me think of "bang orienteers" though!

I'm assuming your aim is partly to publicise to orienteers considering which uni to go to? If so you've made a good start with this post. I'm sure Focus and/or CompassSport would print something as people like reading about such good news stories.

Would such orienteers google "university orienteering clubs" when deciding which uni to go to? If so definately a good aim to get your club on the list - great place for orienteers, all those mountains, great terrain etc.

Good content is also very important to Google

Really? I thought Googlebot was pretty much indifferent to the quality of your content, and rather more interested in your incoming links and your ability to include relevant keywords in your text.

If you have the time and skills there are lots of things you can do to speed up or increase Google's awareness of your pages, but time and quality content that people want to read and link to is the first step.

There must be someone at the university that has the skills to produce a quality website, you just need to find them and buy them a beer (or 2).
