Undergrowth around these parts has shot up considerably in the last week - and I've removed 7 ticks from various bodily locations after the Graythwaite event

Re: spring comes to the far north...
The ticks have been around for 2 months now. I had my first at Bogendreip on Feb 22nd just less than a week after the snow melted. They have also been others at other events including the JK. It's a hazard that is getting worse and probably it won't be long before ticks are a year round problem. I also got Lyme disease from a tick at Tentsmuir after the 11 person relay in September a few years back so know how important to get them out as soon as possible. See http://www.scottish-orienteering.org/in ... t-of-lyme/ for some more details.
