i'd also like to add weight behind the fact that the sultans are ace!!!
i was lucky in enough to go a double header of two of the best named bans in history, the aforementioned sultans and also 'Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine' dunno if any of you remember the lead singer Fruitbat and his diabolical fringe, anyway i went with all my doc marten clad mates, must have been 14 or 15yrs old, my mum dropped me off at the aston villa leisure centre, they hadn't opened the doors and there was about a thousand folk milling about, loads of tension then when they opened the gates a mad rush. us nippers were practically carried in, squashed in a pulsating mass of moshing sweaty humanity, the sultans opened with 'kick me with your leather boots', we were holding onto plastic pint glasses of strongbow that was going everywhere, people were getting thrown in the air and stamped on, and the sultans lead singer was wearing a purple satin skintight jumpsuit, hurling abuse at the audience inbetween songs and generally being a complete lunatic. carter kept the atmosphere going, such a mad rush. the crazy thing is that neither of these bands ever really made it, they were indie scene legends, cracking live, and they just didnt give a sh*t about image, offending people or satisfying the masses. it was a defining moment of my youth going to this concert - i felt like i was witness to legends in the making, that i was a law breaker, a rebel and part of a movement. really i was just a spotty teenager with rose tinted glasses and a Pop Will Eat Itself t-shirt, but at the time it was immense.

Wasn't it Jimbob who had the fringe?
Before I went whole hog and stopped getting haircuts altogether, I had a rather paltry imitation of it.
Last I heard the Carter boys were touring as "The only Carter USM tribute act to contain all of the original members."

abdoujaparov - fantastic band name! (and cyclist)
Jim's Super Stereoworld & jim doing solo stuff as jim bob.
Who's the Daddy Now?
keep trying to go and see the show as its meant to be amazing, generally play king tuts once a year so worth looking out for.

just wait till we ban you from nopesport for 2 days and i slag u off and u cant reply, he he

Back in the day, this was just another comedy sample.

actually i believe it was you that wouldnt believe me when i told you coldplays album was poo....
but il shut up now since im indebted to you for so much musical inspiration over the years!
i just love it when you're listening to music and it all makes sense, you just get a glimpse of something you dont usually see.
eg sitting in the main street in bergen listening to kings of convenience watching the world go past. or listening to coldplay's 'such a rush' while siting in a minibus hiding from the rain about to go orienteering
'in such a rush, to do nothing at all, it such a rush to go no where at all'
