I'm planning BRC 2010 and I'm trying to find out what the course length for Mens Open was at Culbin in 2008. I've found the results but there are no lengths. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
Thanks,

The 2008 BOC relay courses are all on the BOC2009 routegadget site. No distance stated but will give you some idea and you can measure manually if that helps.
The BOC2008 website appears to be a Norwegian Blue

One of the downsides of internet results - have tried to track back over a number of major races in recent times, only to find their results taken off line. British and JK at least should be on for the long term - not removed before the next championship even takes place.
Are they actually archived on line anywhere, as I've been trying to track a set of results down for a while?

Tapping 'BOC 2008 Results' into Google gives:

Didn't BOF have an archive of event results once upon a time... or was I dreaming of what it "should" have?

you were dreaming or it was an alternate reality

The new events section (which includes results archiving) was postponed following the decision made at the EGM to implement a new event structure from January 2009. The new events section will go live in the New Year.
Clubs are asked to submit their event results using the email link below. Links to these results will be displayed on this page.
Archive Results
Numerous archive results can be found on Michael Napier's Website.
Event results can also be viewed on the organising club's website.

Winsplits is usually a good bet - provided the event actually got round to putting the results up there in the first place! Anyone who wants to see how they fared in the British Champs at Graythwaite ten years ago will find those 1999 results there.....
Why did I do that...

If they did, lets say in a big box of paper copies, they would also now have a legal obligation to provide them under freedom of information. I don't know about BOF, but being risk-averse, shortstaffed and seeing this coming, many organisations would have burn the lot

Shame really, I'd like to know e.g. how I got on on previous spring visits to Kyloe.
Coming soon

This thread illustrates the importance of archiving results and making them available, I hope the events standards cttee (if it's still called that) is reading this, perhaps someone should shove it in their face?
It sure helps planners deliver correct course lengths to know the km speeds achieved in previous events, what's the first step in planning an event? It should be agreeing the course lengths with the controller

I'd love to see this!
Shame I don't think it'll ever happen, I'm debating where to put the SOL results from the years I did the standings as the domain is about to be moved about (i.e. probably not addressable for a while...)
it's a common problem with the internet in general, and for BOF to archive all results would be a total nightmare due to the different formats/locations etc

The late Terry Dooris used to be the BOF archivist and used to maintain paper copies of results. Since he passed on I haven't heard any mention of a replacement.
As an aside it is interesting that the Australian Federation has collated all the Australian Championship results from every year and placed them on their website. Guess it would be quite a job to get all the British Champs results together.
