that might be what you think should be offered, but the guidelines say otherwise...

but the point is that if there a strict entry limit and it's tight enough to preclude provision of colour coded courses for 50 kids and beginners (who almost certainly will be on-site anyway with their parents or partners), then there's a good chance that some championship competitors will be turned away.....
maybe the limit should be mentioned somewhere in the details?
if push comes to shove will it be first come first served, or will L courses be prioritised?
and if the entry limit is exceeded, and and BOC needs to be restricted to championship races - then logically it should be the M/W 21 races that get cut...


so we have a BOC at the wrong time of year, without the elites, that isn't open to everyone eligible who wants to run, and apparently might only be TD4..... still as long as it has the correct grade of controller and the maps are the right scale then BOF will be happy...

This sounds like the sort of attitude which pisses a lot of people off with the elite.

One of the strengths of orienteering is the participation of multiple generations. For me, the W10 or M70 winner at the BOC will be every bit as much British Champion as the M21 winner at the elite champs.

as across most age classes the attendance record of the top few is usually very good
but in Elite its distinctly patchier
